Who is He to me?

My grandpa was a very humble man.

He took initiative in taking care of others, more specifically his family and friends. He was a very caring man and would often put others before himself no matter how tired be would become. He raised five children with my grandma, including 10 grandchildren (at the time), put his time, effort, capabilities and strength into providing what’s best for the outcome of his family. 14 years of my life growing up with my grandpa, I have never once witnessed him to ever push anyone away, inflict anger and pain on anyone but merely try to settle situations that he knew were solvable. Because of his personality, he was a very admirable and respected man in his community.

It didn’t take me long to apprehend that my grandpa lived his life the way our Saviour lived. It astonishes me at how much of Christ was revealed through him.

He raised his family for the better good so at any given circumstance that he would go through, we would know what to do. Continue to live by what he taught us, his morals and values. Live faithfully, solve problems, refuse altercations and be happy!

With Jesus, especially during the Lenten season, we are reminded of His sufferings and what He went through. He died so we could live. I’m not saying that my grandpa died for us. But similar to Christ, He would want us to live on with our lives, remember the memories but also be reminded of exactly what he did for us.

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit. – 1 Peter 3:18

Jesus sacrificed His life in accordance to live ours devotedly so we could be forgiven and go forth with our Lord. With that, our Lord is our one true requirement in order to live a imperfect yet perfect life, that is free from sin.

“Easter is the demonstration of God that life is essentially spiritual and timeless.” – Charles M Crowe

With that,

Happy Easter! Christ has risen!
